The esports research project investigates the cultural phenomena of videogames and media, by looking into esports, streaming, video production and game related gambling.  The project is particularly interested in the motivational psychology attached to these behaviours, and looks to map user motivations in relation to consumption. The project started in 2016 and has been examining extremely timely topics, as 2016 and 2017 have featured a multitude of stories related to esports, games and gambling in mainstream media.
