Elpida Bampouni is a Researcher at the Gamification Group and a Doctoral candidate of Human-Technology Interaction at Tampere University. She has an academic background is in Psychology and in Cognitive Science from University of Umea, Sweden. Her research focus is directed on investigating cognitive abilities through the use of experiments in virtual reality, including decision making, spatial awareness and memory. Her current work examines various virtual contexts (e.g. urban, natural, data visualization, games etc.) in combination to full body motion and multisensory modalities such as haptic, auditory and olfactory feedback. Her research aims to identify how multisensory experience influences perception, cognitive processing and cognitive performance in virtual environments.
