Bernice Beukes is a Doctoral researcher at the Gamification group, Tampere University. Her passion for teaching with technology has led to the implementation of various teaching interventions, such as teaching with a light board, flipped and blended learning, interactive PDFs and teaching with online simulations. She holds a Master’s degree in Auditing from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, where the focus of her Masters’ dissertation was on the implementation of a blended learning model to achieve seamless transitions between face-to-face and online learning. She is currently a senior lecturer in the Department of Auditing at the University of Pretoria, where she teaches future accountants and business leaders the fundamentals of business in a fun and engaging manner. Her doctoral research focuses on the gameful scaffolding of online learning environments in higher education.
