Xinyan (Shelly) Zhao is a researcher and a doctoral candidate in Human-Technology Interaction (HTI) at Tampere University, affiliated with the Gamification Group. Her research interests comprise accessibility, sound interfaces, XR-based human behaviour and brain activities.Her current research focuses on enhancing accessibility and user experience (UX) for visually impaired individuals through spatial audio interfaces in virtual reality (VR). She aims to transform visually immersive experiences into engaging and interactive environments, advancing the accessibility experience in HTI.Xinyan holds an MSc in User Experience Engineering from Goldsmiths, University of London and a BE in Gemmology and Material Technology from China University of Geosciences. With an interdisciplinary background, she has contributed to projects on disability inclusion, data visualisation, special pedagogy for children with autism, etc. She leaves comments in Kaomoji in physical world.
