Mustafa Can Gursesli

Mustafa Can Gursesli is a postdoctoral researcher with expertise in bioengineering, psychology, artificial intelligence, and human–computer interaction. His work bridges these fields to design and evaluate game-based interventions, investigate the psychological and physiological effects of gaming, and develop AI-driven emotion recognition systems that capture complex dynamics of human expression and physiology. With research experience in Finland, Japan, Korea, and Italy, he applies interdisciplinary methods to projects in affective computing and immersive technologies. He is a member of the IEEE Entertainment and Gaming (ENT) Technical Committee. At the Gamification Group, he is currently working on the UNITE flagship project, focusing on immersive experiences, psychophysiology, and human attitudes. He also has research interests in large language models, particularly their biases, their role in creative processes, and their integration into in-game experiences.
