Marc Riar is a PhD candidate at Technical University of Berlin and an associated researcher at Gamification Group. His research focuses on collective action in games and collaborative gamification design as well as augmented reality. He holds a M. Sc. in Business Informatics from the University of Mannheim and B. Sc. in Information Systems Management from Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences. In addition to his studies, Mr. Riar has worked at various companies, including Lufthansa German Airlines in New York, SAP Deutschland AG & Co. KG in Walldorf, Systec & Services GmbH and Fiducia & GAD IT AG in Karlsruhe, Germany. Prior to joining TU Berlin and Gamification Group, he was part of a research team at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, where he investigated the potential of gamification and other approaches to motivate teachers and professors to participate in the Open Educational Resources (OER) movement.
