QUESTIONS

Questions about training and start of training

Where is the tatami?

The tatami is located in Bombshelter (in Finnish Bommari), on the lower floor of the Rakennustalo, behind the red door. The route there goes behind the floorball courts.

Where do I stamp my access card?

The door of the tatami has a card reader that can be accessed with the access card if the basic sports fee has been paid. Everyone should stamp the card at the door, even if they come to the tatami with the crowd and the door must be closed after leaving.

Do I need to pay the basic sports fee?

Yes, you need to. All the members of JURRI are allowed to train, and to be the member of JURRI you must also be a member of TUrVoKe (basic sports fee) and therefore also a member of TREY.

Where do I pay JURRI's membership fee?

The membership fee is paid for JURRI's bank account.

What do I wear in judo?

In judo, we wear judo suits, called as judogi, and we train barefoot. At the beginning you can wear T-shirt and sports trousers. Jewelery etc. should be removed and long hair should be closed.

Can I go to the tatami with shoes?

Absolutely NO. All other hard and sharp should be avoided on tatami (belt buckles, etc.).

Does it hurt?

Every now and then it hurts. Usually, however, rarely.

What if I get hurt?

At the tatam there are a first aid kit with cool bags, patches, tape and other necessary first aid supplies.

Is it worth getting insurance?

Yes it is. Judo Federation has made a major license reform, which means that every Judo hobbyist whose name is found in the Sport Register is automatically insured. Practical matters are handled by the JURRI Board.

From where do I get water?

There are water points next to the tatami, but they may not be very clean. When you come to Bombshelter, before the floorball courts there are toilets where you can fill the bottle.
