Judo is the largest martial art in the world, with a number of hobbyists. Judo was born in the 1880s, when Jigoro Kano, the developer of the sport, transformed the old Japanese fighting skills into a form of exercise in which one could compete without harming his opponent. The actual judo activity began in 1954 in Finland.
Judo techniques consist of throws, pins, joint locks and chokes. Judo develops endurance, strength, speed, flexibility, balance and agility. One of the goals of Judo is that the mind should be able to control the body as good as possible. There are innumerable techniques in Judo. Everyone will surely find the "judo style" best suited for themselves. It doesn't matter whether you are tall, short, fat or lean. Judo is suitable for all fitness sports regardless of age, size and gender.
Belt Rankings
In Judo, the skill level of a judoka is described by the color of the belt. Colorful belts are so-called student values and the darker the belt, the more experienced judoka. Black belts are teacher values. The colors of the belts goes as follows:
