Abstract
This paper describes the life experience of a traditional project manager, his journey through Waterfall, RAD, DSDM, RUP, Scrum and XP and some lessons learned. It concludes that there is no universally applicable method or technique and that establishing effective team-based learning mechanisms is the only mandatory first step in any improvement programme.
