Project results

Here are some examples from different working groups with short descriptions. The game environment enables creative approaches to sustainable solutions, which can later be realized in the real world. The sustainability content-integrated language learning approach (CLIL) was combined with the ideas of multilingualism. Translanguaging was appreciated and supported. Besides their mother tongue, the learners used depending on the project case German, English and French. The mother tongues used were e.g. Finnish, Norwegian, German, French, Czech and Italian.

Sustainability fair (winter 2023-2024) with students from Finland, Germany and Norway.

The students prepared presentations in groups about sustainable themes and inventions. The presentations were transferred to a Minecraft world, where the groups then presented their work to others. After the product presentations, questions were asked and the topics were then discussed together.

The task of the chemistry project in spring 2024 was to search for information in the international student working groups and try to find a suitable method for chemical environmentally friendly energy production and to build it together in Minecraft.

SERASUM adventure mission (autumn 2023 – winter 2024) with students from Finland, France and Germany.

An immersive adventure in Minetest where the goal was to improve the sustainability of the game environment. The students discussed sustainable topics and worked together using self-made avatars. The Blockalot Minetest environment was created by LMZ (Landesmedienzentrum Baden-Württemberg).

The students decided together that they would build a sustainable school. The school includes different classrooms and a library.

The jungle area was separated inside the world under a glass dome, enabling the students to utilize different biomes simultaneously.

This project focused on buildings sustainable buildings. The students built themselves environmentally friendly houses with green elements and renewable energy production.
