1dl water
200g honey
2 star anise
1tsp cinnamon
1tsp cardamom
6 large pears

1. Add water, spices and honey in a frying pan. Bring to a boil.
2. Peel the pears and cut each pear into four pieces. Remove any bad spots and the stems.
3. Add the pears into the hot pan and swirl in the honey mixture until the pears begin to soften.
4. Serve the pears with whipped cream or crème fraîche. You can also drizzle some of the leftover honey syrup on the pears
