Robots in Welfare Project Started

Vision group participates in a large strategic research project related to robotics in welfare service sector and funded by the Academy of Finland for 2015-2021.

At the end of 2015 a large strategic research project - Robots and the Future of Welfare Services (ROSE) - funded by the Academy of Finland started. In this project the Vision Group will develop novel robot vision systems that will be used in welfare robotics, in particular, for senior citizens.

Academy of Finland Strategic Funding is for highly prestigious and ambitious multi-disciplinary research projects that are important for the future of Finland. Robotics was identified as one of the key future technologies and, in particular, in welfare and healthcare.
