Welcome! My name is Mr. Plasma Nice and I will be your guide throughout this website. You can visit the different sections to know more about the PlasmaNice project. Take a look at the goals we pursue, the basics of nanotechnology and the reason why nanotechnology and plasma come together in this project. You can also find a short description of all 14 partners from 8 different EU countries involved in this project. Please come back for updates. Enjoy your visit.

PlasmaNice - Atmospheric Plasmas for Nanoscale Industrial Surface Processing - is a four-year project funded by the European Union 7th RTD Framework Programme in the context of  the NMP - Nanosciences, Nanotechnologies, Materials and new Production Technologies. The project started on 1st of October 2008. The main objective is to develop equipment for in-line atmospheric plasma deposition of functional nanocoatings on various fiber- and polymer-based substrates. The project aims at improvement of recyclability of conventional fossil fuel based plastics and/or replacement by renewable bio-based (and biodegradable) materials.

The consortium of PlasmaNice is formed by three universities, four research institutes and seven industrial partners including five SMEs.
