200g herring fillet
800g potatoes
1 onion
1dl heavy cream or milk
3dl fish stock
Oil
1 tsp black pepper
Salt
Dill
1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin slices. Cut the herring fillets into smaller pieces.
2. Boil the potato slices for approximately 10 minutes. The slices don't have to be fully cooked yet. Pour the water out and put the potato slices aside.
3. Cut the onion into small cubes.
4. Put oil into a deep frying pan and add the diced onions. Sauté until the onions are slightly translucent.
5. Add the potatoes, herring, heavy cream/milk and fish stock into the pan. Season to taste.
Cover the pan with a lid and let the ingredients simmer until the fish is cooked and the potatoes are soft.
The cooking time depends on how thin the potatoes are cut.
